Bakewell Tart


A very late Easter recap.

Easter was marked this year with a small handful of miracles. First, my mother’s pansies, which were at death’s door, appropriately came back to life in time to be the centerpiece at dinner. The second was Chris E’s fabulous bakewell tart (recipe can be found here), which was divine. Then, the third: the amazing discovery that if you take the F train long enough with a small amount of cream on your person, you can make butter. When he showed up with his tart (yes, we made the same joke), we discovered to our wonderment that the cream he had brought to whip had already been whipped en route! Magic!

  1. I'm sure Chris E isn't the sort of person to guard his tarts--the recipes for them, at least...perhaps you could oblige us, Herr E?
